Welcome to the Innovationsland NRW website. North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) is an important place for new ideas and innovations in Germany. This website provides key information about innovation and explains how NRW supports the development of new ideas. You will find many exciting topics and the latest news.
The Innovation State
NRW is a key location for new ideas and developments where people with creative ideas are working with the business and research communities. There are many research centres, networks, and organisations that support innovation. The Innovation Report looks into how well NRW performs in innovation compared to other German states.
Innovation Strategy
NRW has a plan to promote innovation, called the Innovation Strategy. This strategy highlights key areas where new ideas and solutions are needed in NRW. It encourages people to work with each other on solutions for social and economic challenges.
However, more work is needed to strengthen NRW’s position as a centre for innovation in the long term. Two especially important topics are digitalisation and a climate-friendly economy. These will help NRW prepare for the future.
The Innovation Award
Innovation is essential for a strong economy. Many people help by contributing ideas and taking business risks, ensuring the region remains successful.
The NRW Innovation Award honours individuals who turn ideas into successful products, processes, or business models. This keeps NRW competitive.
The award is given in four categories:
• Innovation
• Innovation2Business
• Innovation2Market
• Innovation4Transformation
A panel of judges selects the winners from the nominated individuals.
The Innovation Congress
The Innovation Congress is for anyone interested in new ideas in NRW. This includes people from businesses, science, politics, and organisations that support innovation.
At the congress, attendees meet to discuss new projects and developments related to NRW as an innovation hub. It is a great place to exchange ideas and make new connections. Anyone interested is free to register and attend.
